Hopkins & Wayson is a leading general contractor in Maryland with nearly 100 years of experience delivering high-quality commercial construction services across the Mid-Atlantic. We’re best known for our work in retail, convenience stores, quick serve restaurants, institutional and government projects with a focus on getting clients open for business faster without compromising quality.

## Our History

Established in 1935, Hopkins & Wayson built its reputation during D.C.’s population boom by being the contractor clients could count on. Founders Randolph Hopkins and Morgan Wayson Sr. managed each project with a 
hands-on approach and the simple principle that success came from honest partnerships.

 

Over decades, our team has carried that work ethic and craftsmanship through generations, each building on what came before and committing to a culture of continuous improvement. Those values have formed the foundation on how we do business today: with integrity in every build and relationship, respect for the details and pride in doing things right the first time.

 

Family-owned and based in Owings, Maryland, Hopkins & Wayson exists to “provide in the least amount of time and at the lowest possible cost, a finished product that does not sacrifice safety or quality.” — Morgan Wayson Jr.

### **1935**

Hopkins & Wayson is founded   
by Randolph Hopkins and   
Morgan Wayson Sr.

### **1940**

Began developing Morningside,   
MD with homes that originally  
sold for $2,730.

### **1963**

Morgan Wayson Jr. formalized   
the company’s mission on speed,   
cost, quality and safety.

### **1985**

Celebrated 50th Anniversary

### **1992**

President Brian Hall joined Hopkins   
& Wayson after graduating from  
Ithaca (N.Y.) College

### **2015**

Best Foodservice Presentation Award from  
Convenience Store News awarded to Royal  
Farms Store #191 in Hunt Valley, MD,  
constructed by Hopkins & Wayson as a first-  
of-its-kind fast-casual foodservice concept.
